University Weekend Residential 2020 - NEW DATES

Are you in Year 9, do you want to live like a university student for a weekend? 

Would you like to visit a university campus and make new friends?

Do you want to find out more about higher education and take part in subject tasters?

If so, then come along to our FREE University Residential Weekend at Hartpury University. 

This residential experience allows you to explore a university campus and through taking part in fun, interactive workshops you will discover more about the facilities, subjects on offer and the benefits of higher education. In the evening you will be able to take part in various social activities including rounders, a nature walk or just chilling in the student lounge through watching TV or playing pool - all this before you stay overnight in university halls of residence. 

When is it? Saturday 4 (arrival 9:45am) - Sunday 5 July (collection 3:00pm) NEW DATES DUE TO COVID-19

How to apply? Follow the instructions below on how to apply for a place. If you are worried about coming alone and want a friend to join you, let us know and we’ll see if we can make space for them too.

Why take part? You will experience what it is like to be a university student by staying overnight in halls of residence, meeting new people, exploring the campus and taking part in lots of exciting different activities to that will increase your understanding of higher education and particular subjects. 


Priority will be given to those pupils who meet certain postcode criteria (click here for more information) and who indicate that they are able to attend all scheduled dates. If you do not meet the postcode criteria to book then you will be added to a waiting list and will be informed closer to the time if a place is available.

• If you are not a priority learner then please complete the registration of interest form to apply and we will be in touch closer to the time to confirm whether you have been allocated a place

Once we have the required information you will be informed as to whether or not your child has a place and if so, you will receive further details as well as a full consent form.

This event is completely free of charge and the GROWS network will cover all costs including food, transport (where offered) and all activities.

Notes for parents:

Your child / young person should be able to attend all dates in order to take part in this experience

All sessions will be fully risk assessed and all staff delivering the sessions have the necessary Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks in place, where required.

If getting your child to / from this event will be an issue please let us know and we can look into supporting with this. 

Priority places are given to those students from certain postcodes.
