Do you wish you knew more about;
· The wide range of opportunities available to your child after their GCSEs?
· Effective revision techniques to help your child in their exams?
· How to motivate and support your child to succeed?
Come to our FREE parents’ event and hear from the experts, including a qualified careers advisor.
For parents and carers of pupils in Years 9, 10 and 11, the evening consists of two workshops, each lasting one hour. If you are unable to attend both of the workshops you are welcome to come to either one. Please feel free to bring your child, although you don’t have to. Refreshments will be provided.
6:15 – 7:15 Opportunities beyond GCSEs
As young people have to stay within learning until aged 18, there are a wide range of qualifications they can access. There are also career choices for young people which are changing both locally and nationally. This session should help you have an overview of both study and employment prospects as well as hear about some benefits of onward study including university-level study. There will be the opportunity to ask questions and speak to the experts.
7:30 – 8:30 Exams made easy
This insightful session will be delivered by MADE training and provides easy to understand information on how you can support your child with their revision and exams, including what revision is and how to monitor its effectiveness. You should be more informed in how to support your child, raise their motivation levels and help to create a suitable study environment at home.
A careers advisor, staff from local higher education providers and members of staff from GROWS will be available throughout the evening to answer any queries you may have.
