A series of masterclasses designed to give pupils from Year 10 and 11 a taste of a range of careers and higher education level subjects in the ever growing creative industries sector. Lead by experts in their field and delivered in a fun, inclusive and friendly manner these classes are a must for any creative child looking for ways to make the most of their ways of thinking and skills be it design, writing, drawing or acting. Four short sessions are run across May with the final session being held face to face (subject to Government Guidelines) at The Park Campus of The University of Gloucestershire. Pupils would benefit from attending all the classes even if one is not a particular area of interest as each session includes elements of a range of creative approaches and styles.
All sessions below run to form the whole programme, booking a place means booking a space on each week's sessions.
Sessions 1 – 3 run 10.30 – 12.30 virtually, exact timings for session 4 will be confirmed closer to the time.
Saturday May 8 – Fashion Design – A session leaning on a range of inspirations and techniques with equipment sent home to support pupils. Jason Johns Senior Lecturer at The University of Gloucestershire takes you on a journey of creative discovery….. fashion is more than meets the eye
Saturday May 15 – Computer Games Design – There is the love of a game within us all, combine your fun side with design techiques and tips from John Moss Senior Lecturer in Games Design and design your own world.
Saturday May 22 – Animation – Discover the world of animation with University of Gloucestershire Graduate Zosie, this fun and very hands on session will give you a taste of animation and how to use simple techniques to bring characters to life
Saturday May 29 – Advertising – Bring together all the skills that you have learnt and work with Carl Halford, Data and Marketing Awards Judge to discover your creative genius and build your own award winning advert
